The Benefits of a Chiropractic Massage

By - http://www.3fatchicks.com

There is a new way to increase the benefits of chiropractic treatment. Chiropractic Massage has gained a great deal of popularity as a way of maximizing both alignment work and massage therapy. Here we learn what chiropractic massage is, and how it can help you.

What Is Chiropractic Massage?

The definition of chiropractic massage is revealed in the two parts of the word. Two words that mean very different things. Chiropractic refers to the proper alignment of your body, spine and bones. Massage concerns your tissues and your muscles. However, it is becoming increasingly common to marry the two schools together.

Many chiropractic practitioners employ massage therapists or are massage therapists themselves. A recent survey showed that 12 percent of massage therapists work with chiropractors and 51.4 percent of chiropractors offer massage to their patients. The massage is first administered before the chiropractic work to help prepare you for your session. More massage comes after, to help you relax and aid with your re-alignment. Many benefits can come from combining these two processes.

Put Bones Back in Alignment

Often times, it is the muscles surrounding your skeleton that are contributing to your lack of alignment. Muscles pull on bones. Over the years, this can lead to displacement that causes discomfort and pain. In chiropractic, this can be especially true of the spine. If your muscles are pulling on your bones, your readjusted spine won’t stay readjusted for long. Massage can help this. It is believed that manipulating muscles and connective tissue can help loosen and unlock them. Loose muscles will pull less on your bones and result in less distortion in your frame. Pairing massage with chiropractic is a great way to accomplish this.

 Reduces Stress

Though many people are extremely happy to see their chiropractor, preparing for manual realignment can be stressful. Massage helps you forget the aches and pains and helps you handle any anticipation anxiety. Increasing your relaxation before the procedure can have a myriad of chiropractic benefits. A relaxed body is easier for your chiropractor to manipulate, which in turn allows you to get more out of the session. Massage has been shown to reduce blood pressure, which also makes for a more peaceful session. After the realignment, massage can help remove any remaining tension from the adjustmen. And finally, stress can intensify the pain caused by spinal misalignment. A regular massage regime might be able to help prevent some discomfort.

Eases Discomfort

Massage has been used for centuries in cultures across the globe to manage pain. Today, it is used to ease many kinds of discomfort, in patients from fibromyalgia sufferers to diabetics. In chiropractic, massage helps prevent muscle spasms and cramping that might result from more strenuous adjustments. Also, a relaxed body during the session will not suffer much as much soreness as a tense one.

Chiropractic massage is a marriage of two popular forms of physical therapy. Chiropractics aligns your bones to optimize your physical comfort and performance. Massage loosens muscles and relaxes the body enough to allow it to happen. If you think you could use a little more relaxation in your chiropractic sessions, talk to your doctor to see if chiropractic massage is for you.

People always lament that the tasty things are the worst things for our health–case in point: French fries. But how about pecans? Yum! Pecans have shown to significantly lower LDL cholesterol and increase HDL. Frequent consumption of nuts is associated with a lowered risk of sudden cardiac death and other coronary heart disease, as well as a lower risk of Type II diabetes in women.

These kinda look like they are coated...we are talking fresh out of the shell! ;-)

"Cracking me up!"

"Julie made me come in!  Just kidding, I have been experiencing and dealing with back pain for 13 years.  I tried physical therapy and still experienced sharp pains down my right leg.  At one point it would take me a few minutes to even walk again.
Since I have been on care, I have noticed that my back doesn't hurt as much and my neck feels much better.  I also noticed that I have fewer migraines as well.  I love the office staff, knowing that my life and health are better because of it.  Thank you both for bettering my life!  Two thumbs up!  Thanks again for "cracking me up!"
